Email supportTHE ROLL
Why can't I see the photo I just took?
That's the whole feature. THE ROLL is a disposable camera: every frame you shoot is sealed the moment you take it, and nothing opens until Saturday at 6:40pm, your local time. Then the whole week develops at once, graded, in one go. There is no way to peek early — not a setting, not a workaround. Waiting is the point.
When exactly does it develop?
Saturday, 6:40pm, on your device's clock. If you shoot a frame at 6:41pm on a Saturday, it develops the following Saturday. The countdown on the sealed card is the truth.
Can I get a frame back after I delete it?
No. Deleted frames are gone from the device permanently.
THE CLASS ROLL
How do I start a class?
- Open THE ROLL, then tap through to THE CLASS ROLL.
- Pick a handle, a name, and a face.
- Tap OR START ONE, name the class, choose a join code and a graduation year.
- Share the code from THE ROSTER. Anyone with it can join.
How do I join one?
Same first two steps, then enter the code someone gave you and tap JOIN THE CLASS. Codes are not case sensitive.
Why is the wall empty?
A week only appears on the wall after its Saturday has passed. If your class started this week, the first volume lands at 6:40pm Saturday, along with everybody else's.
Do my frames go up automatically?
No. After your roll develops, you choose which frames go to the class, one at a time. Anything you don't pick stays on your phone.
Reporting, blocking and deleting
Something on the wall shouldn't be there
Tap the frame, then the "..." button in the top right of the author's row, then Report or block. Blocking hides everything that person has posted, immediately and permanently, on your device. A frame reported by three people is removed from the wall automatically. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and content or people that break the class rules are removed.
If something needs attention faster, email ianroyes@gmail.com with the class code and the handle.
Taking down something I posted
Open your own frame, tap "...", then Take it down. It is removed from the wall and deleted from the server.
Deleting everything
Email ianroyes@gmail.com with your class code and handle and everything associated with you is deleted within 30 days. Deleting the app removes all local data — including every sealed frame — right away.
Other
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no password anywhere in the app.
Does it cost anything?
No. There is no subscription and nothing to buy.
Requirements
iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or later. THE ROLL needs camera access to shoot; you can also import a frame from your photo library instead.
