There is no account, no email, no password, and no advertising or analytics of any kind. There are no third-party SDKs in this app. The only server it ever contacts is our own.
What stays on your phone
Almost everything. Browsing the films, the archive and the photography is entirely local — no request leaves the device.
THE ROLL is a camera that seals every frame until Saturday at 6:40pm. Those frames are stored only on your phone. A photo you shoot and never drop to a class wall is never uploaded, never seen by us, and is deleted when you delete it or remove the app.
What is sent, and only if you join a class
THE CLASS ROLL is the optional shared half of the feature. If you join or start a class, the following is stored on our server so the other people in your class can see it:
- Frames you choose to drop. One at a time, picked by hand after your roll develops. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
- The handle, display name and photo you pick for yourself in the class.
- Captions and short notes you write on your own or someone else's frame.
- An anonymous identifier created for your device, so the app knows which frames are yours to delete. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, phone number, or advertising identifier.
That is the complete list. We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing activity, device advertising ID, or any usage analytics.
Who can see it
Frames you drop are visible to people who have your class's join code. Class walls are not public, are not indexed by search engines, and are not shared, sold, licensed, or disclosed to any third party — ever, for any purpose, including advertising.
Our server is hosted by Supabase, which stores the data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.
How long it is kept
Frames stay on the class wall for as long as the class exists, because the point of the feature is a record that builds to graduation. You can take down any frame you posted at any time, from the "..." menu on the frame, and it is deleted from the server.
Deleting your data
You can remove anything you have posted from inside the app. To have everything associated with you erased — every frame, note and profile detail — email ianroyes@gmail.com from the device's class handle and we will delete it within 30 days. Deleting the app from your phone removes every sealed frame and all local data immediately.
Objectionable content and other people
Every frame on a class wall can be reported or its author blocked, from the "..." menu on that frame. Blocking takes effect immediately. Reports are reviewed, and a frame is automatically removed from the wall once it has been reported by three people. We remove content and remove people from walls where the class rules have been broken.
Children
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, email us and it will be deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top will change and the new version will be posted here before the change takes effect.
